What is Cognitive Hypnotherapy?

Cognitive hypnotherapy combines cognitive behavioural therapy and clinical hypnosis with theories based on modern neuroscience.

Cognitive hypnotherapy is a fluid and flexible approach used to positively influence emotional, behavioural, cognitive and symptomatic change. This branch of hypnosis is different from traditional schools of hypnotherapy. This technique draws influence from a range of theories and can be tailored to suit your personal goals, values and needs- avoiding the 'one size fits all' approach.'

Cognitive Hypnotherapy for Eating Disorders

Cognitive hypnotherapy tools and strategies can be used as part of your eating disorder treatment plan or has been helpful for those who have not responded to more traditional approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or talking therapies.

This model bypasses the conscious mind and directly targets subconscious ways of thinking, feeling and acting. Cognitive hypnotherapy can be thought of as looking beneath your eating disorder habits and behaviours to get to the 'root cause' of your eating disorder.

Working at a subconscious level we can target and reprogramme unhelpful limiting beliefs, trauma, fears and automatic patterns of thinking, feeling or acting to support a healthier view of yourself, your body and food as part of the recovery journey.

Cognitive Hypnotherapy can help with your recovery journey:

Fear of Weight Gain and Food
